3 T butter
1/2 t salt
1 c sugar
2 eggs unbeaten
1 1/2 c sifted flour
1 t baking powder
1/2 c milk
grated rind of 1 lemon

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter, salt, sugar and add 1 egg at a time. Beat well. Add lemon rind, milk, flour, baking powder. Pour into greased loaf pan. Bake 350 for 55 minutes. While loaf is hot, spoon over the bread the following: juice of 1 lemon and 1/2 c sugar that has been brought to a boil. I poke a few holes in the bread before I pour the lemon sugar mixture over the bread.
