Olive oil
2 lbs. stewing beef, cut into 1" cubes
1 cup sliced onions
Minced garlic to taste, at last one clove
3/4 c. ketchup
1 Tbsp. brown sugar
2 Tbsp. Worcestershire or soy sauce
2 tsp. paprika
1/2 tsp. dry mustard
1 1/2 c. water
2 Tbsp. flour
1/4 c. water
Cayenne pepper to taste

Brown the meat in the olive oil. Add onion and garlic. Cook and stir until onion is tender. Stir in ketchup, Worcestershire/soy sauce, sugar, paprika, mustard, cayenne, and 1 1/2 c. water. Cover. Simmer 2-2 1/2 hours. If the sauce is not thick enough, blend the flour and the 1/4 c. water. Heat the sauce until boiling and then add the thickener. Serve over rice or noodles.
