1 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1 egg
1 cup flour
1 cup quick oats
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar thoroughly. Beat in egg and vanilla. Add flour and rolled oats and mix. Spread into a greased and floured 9 x 13 pan. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes. Cool for 10 minutes. Melt 6 chocolate bars with 2 tbsp butter into which you stir 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans. Pour over cooled cookie layer. Or if in a hurry the Hershey bars can be melted on hot cookie bars as you remove them from the oven.
