1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 can Dole sliced pineapple (8 slices)
1 layer yellow cake mix

Directions:

In 9-inch iron skillet melt butter, remove from heat & stir in the brown sugar. Arrange pineapple slices in the skillet. For variation you may add a half marchino cherry or walnut half in the middle of the slices. Mix the one-layer cake mix as directed & pour over the pineapple/sugar mixture in the skillet. Bake 40-50 minutes @ 350º. Let cool a few minutes & turn out of the skillet onto a platter.

This is the cake that Nan made a lot in her huge "waterless" cookware skillet. You can also bake it in a round cheesecake pan or tube pan, but it tastes better made in a skillet.
