2 1/2 cups oatmeal (quick cooking)
2 1/4 cup flour

Directions:
Directions:
Make filling by putting all the ingredients in a saucepan and cook on medium until mixture thickens and dates are well blended in. Set aside to cool.

Make cookie mixture by putting ingredients in a large bowl and using fork work the mixture until a fine crumbly mixture exists. ( I have done this in a food processor pulsing until well blended) press half the mixture into a 11 x 7 inch pan, pour the date mixture on and spread evenly, then take the remaining cookie mix and crumble evenly over the top of date mixture.

Bake 35 minutes in 350º oven.

Personal Notes:
There were no directions for this recipe, Adeline made these up in such a way they would just melt in your mouth. She showed me how she made them and I have added the directions. Mine come out close to hers, but I believe that she added an extra touch of her own that I could never match. Pam
