Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour, 1 tsp salt, 2 tsp baking powder, 1 egg, 1/2 cup milk & chicken broth

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour with baking powder and salt. Beat egg; add milk. Combine mixtures. Drop batter into slow-boiling chicken broth and cook uncovered for 5 minutes. Cover, with lid slightly ajar to allow some steam out, for 5 minutes. Immediately remove dumplings to hot platter and thicken broth, if desired. If timed exactly, they are light and fluffy. If cooked too long they become doughy. Serves 4. To thicken broth: Mix 2 T flour and 1/3 cup water for each 1 cup of broth. Blend flour and cold water together until it is smooth. Add some hot broth to mixture before combining with hot broth (to avoid lumps). Gradually add to hot broth, stirring constantly. Cook over medium heat until gravy is smooth and thickened.
