5 or 6 green peppers (washed and clean out),
1 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2cup vinegar, 2 tsp salt, 1 large head cabbage (grated),1 large green pepper, 1 cup of chopped celery, 1 tsp celery seed &1 tsp mustard seed (optional)

Directions:

(Slaw) - Mix sugar, vinegar and salt in dish and dissolve. Chop other ingredients fine and toss together. Add liquid and stir. This is better if it stands overnight.

Arrange green peppers in round casserole dish with openings at top. Stuff with vinegar cole slaw and chill in refrigerator.

Another of my brother's favorites was Mom's stuffed green peppers (which Mom and her sisters called mangos). Waneta said she never knew what a mango was until she moved to Houston and worked in a grocery store. I have recreated her recipe for those by using my Southern Cole Slaw Recipe.
