Cream: 1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. butter
Add: One unbeaten egg
Sift: 2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Add: 2 or 3 T. Anise

Bake 350 for 8 min. Keep a close eye on them. They taste great extra soft!

I don't know where Mom got this receipe but I know the reason I love Good n' Plenty and black licorice is because of these cookies. Definitely a Conley 5 favorite!
