1 1/2 cup flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 cup butter
2/3 cup milk
1/2 tsp vanilla
2 tbsp butter
1 1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 cup boiling water

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour, measure and sift with baking powder, granulated sugar and salt. Cut in 1/4 cup butter and add milk and vanilla. Mix quickly and drop by teaspoons into boiling caramel sauce made by cooking together the remaining ingredients. Cover and cook gently for 20 minutes. Don't lift cover at all during cooking period. Serve with hot sauce. Top with whipped cream if desired.
