2 c. brown sugar
1 c. shortening
a pinch of salt
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs
4 c. flour
1 tsp soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar and shortening together. Add salt, vanilla and eggs and mix well. Sift together flour, soda and cream of tartar. Mix sugar mixture and dry ingredients together. Form into rolls about 2 inches in diameter. wrap in waxed paper and chill. Slice into 1/4 inch slices and place on greased or paper lined cookie sheets.

Bake at 350º util golden around edges.
