Put enough nuts and cherries aside to make flowers on top of the cake. Pour boiling water over almonds, let sit five minutes then shell them. Well flour all the fruits and nuts.Cut cherries in halves or quarters and pineapple into small pieces. Leave the nuts whole. Sift together flour, cream of tartar and baking soda. Cream butter, add sugar, beat eggs and stir well into mixter. Add milk and cocoanut. Add fruit and nuts to mixture. Add the flour mixture half at a time. Mix well until all the flour has disappeared.
