1 POUND OF BUTTER
2 1/4 CUPS SUGAR
6 EGGS
1 CUP OF MILK
1 CAN MOIST COCOANUT
3 TSPS VANILLA
1 TSP BAKING SODA
5 CUPS OF FLOUR
1 POUND WHITE RAISINS
1/4 POUND PECANS
1/2 POUND CANDIED PINEAPPLE
1/2 POUND CHERRIES
1/2 POUND ALMONDS
1/2 POUND ENGLISH WALNUTS
1/4 POUND BLACK WALNUTS
2 1/2 TSPS CREAM OF TARTAR

Put enough nuts and cherries aside to make flowers on top of the cake. Pour boiling water over almonds, let sit five minutes then shell them. Well flour all the fruits and nuts.Cut cherries in halves or quarters and pineapple into small pieces. Leave the nuts whole. Sift together flour, cream of tartar and baking soda. Cream butter, add sugar, beat eggs and stir well into mixter. Add milk and cocoanut. Add fruit and nuts to mixture. Add the flour mixture half at a time. Mix well until all the flour has disappeared. This is very stiff, but do not add anymore liquid. With cherries and nuts, put a flower design on top of cake.Bake slowly in moderate oven 350 about one hour or until well browned.
