2 oz unsweetened baker’s chocolate
¾ cup sugar
2 eggs
2 egg yolks
½ cup butter
½ cup strong coffee
Pinch of salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp plain gelatin

Directions:
Directions:

In small saucepan melt chocolate
Dissolve gelatin in 2 tbsp cold water, then set dish in hot water.
Put whole eggs and egg yolks into top of double boiler. Beat gently until mixed. Add rest of ingredients. Stir with wooden spoon, add melted chocolate and cook over gently boiling water until thickened. Store in covered bowl in refrigerator.

Whip one cup of whipping cream until quite stiff. Add dissolved gelatin and 1 cup chocolate mixture. Fill baked tart shells.

The other filling for Mom's Christmas Tarts. This works just as well at midnight as the lemon filling, but shows more on your face as you sneak back to bed.
