1 c. dry red wine
¾ c. water
12 dried black mission figs – about 3 ounces, stemmed, cut into ¼-inch cubes
2 c. sugar
½ c. fresh lemon juice


Directions:
Directions:
Bring all ingredients to a boil in a large heavy saucepan over med-high heat, stirring constantly until sugar dissolves.



Boil mixture until thickened and reduced to about 1 cups – about 45 minutes.



Transfer jam to large bowl.



Cool completely – cover and refrigerate.



Can be made 1 week ahead. Bring to room temperature before serving.
