2 ¾ cups flour
2 ½ tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. salt
2/3 cup shortening
2 ¼ cup (1 lb) brown sugar
3 eggs
1 package chocolate chips
Nuts if desired

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together and set aside flour, baking powder and salt. Melt shortening. Stir brown sugar into melted shortening. Beat in eggs one at a time and beat well. Add flour mixture and lastly add chocolate chips and the nuts. Pour into greased 9X13 pan. Bake at 350 for 25-30. Cut into squares when almost cool.

These were my dad's favorite when he was growing up. A great chocolate chip bar/blondie recipe.
