1/4 cup warm water in a coffee mug
1 tsp. sugar
1 package dry yeast
1 full coffee mug of hot water
1/2 cup of sugar (or more)
1 tsp. salt
1/2 stick of butter
1 egg
about 4 cups white flour
cinnamon and sugar mixed together--about a cup

Directions:

Mix water, sugar and yeast together in a coffee mug and let rise to top of the cup.
In mixer bowl put mug full of hot water. Add sugar, salt, butter and egg. Add flour, enough for a smooth, elastic dough, about four cups. Knead until smooth. Let rest and rise for one hour. Punch down. Knead once more until smooth.Roll out on floured surgace. Spread softened butter on rolled-out dough. Spinkle mixture of cinnamon and sugar on dough.Roll up and slice.Let rise in pan.
Bake 350 degree for 15 to 20 minutes until done. Makes 16 rolls.

Grandma Fort always doubled the recipe and she never really measured. She had made them for so long I think she could make them with her eyes closed. These were delicious!
