1 c soft shortening
1 1/2 c sugar
2 eggs
1 t vanilla
2 3.4 c sifted flour
1 t soda
2 t cream of tartar
1/2 t salt

Directions:
Directions:
In large bowl, beat shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla until light and fluffy.

Sift together:
flour, soda, cream of tartar, and salt.

Gradually add flour mixture to shortening mixture. Refrigerate briefly. Shape into balls rolled from spoon. Roll balls in mixture of 2 t cinnamon and 2 T sugar. Put in refrigerator for 2-3 hours.

Put on cookie sheet and bake at 375 for 8-10 minutes or until lightly brown.
