1 Cup Shortening
1 Cup Brown Sugar
1 Cup Granulated Sugar
2 Well Beaten Eggs
1 Teaspoon Vanilla
1 Cups Flour
1 Teaspoon Salt
1 Teasppon Baking Soda
3 Cups Oats (Not Instant)
Cup Chopped Pecans

Thoroughly cream shortening and sugars. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well. Sift together dry ingredients and then add to creamed mixture. Add oats and nuts; mix well.

Shape in rolls, wrap in plastic wrap or wax paper and chill thoroughly. Slice in. thick. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 350 for 10 minutes.

Makes about 5 dozen.
