1 c sugar
1 c brown sugar
1c butter
3 eggs
4 c flour
1 tsp each - soda, salt, vanilla

Filling ingredients:
1 lb dates
1/2 c sugar
1/2 c water
Directions:
Directions:
Mix top 8 ingredients together and chill.
Roll out to little less than 1/4 inch thickness and spread with filling.

Cook dates, sugar, water, to soften dates. Boil till thick and cool. When cooled spread on rolled out cookie dough and roll like jelly roll. Chill overnite.
Slice thin and bake.
