2 cups sugar 1/2 cup shortening 2 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla 4 cups flour 2 tsp. bakikng soda 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 cup cocoa 1 cup sour milk or buttermilk 1/2 cup boiling water
Filling; 5 tbsp. flour 1 cup milk 1 cup vegetable shortening 3/4 cup powdered sugar 1/4 tsp salt 1 tsp.vanilla
Cream shortening and sugar, add eggs and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with milk and hot water. Drop by spoonfuls on greased cookie sheet. Bake 5-7 min.at 400-425º Put filling between two cookies when cool.
FILLING: Cook flour and milk til thick , stirring constantly. Cool Cream other ingredients together and add cooked mixture one tbsp. at a time.
