1 lb groud beef/chuck or turkey
1 med onion, chopped
1 small can mushrooms (or about 1 cup fresh) *optional
1 can green beans, corn, peas or mixed veggie
garlic(1 clove, or 1 Tbsp minced)
2 cups brown gravy (or 2 jars)
mashed potatoes(a serving for 6)
grated cheese

Fry ground beef in skillet of water until nearly done.
drain water and return to skillet.
add onion, mushrooms and garlic, fry until onions are tender.
Layer in a casserole dish:
ground meat mixture
veggies
gravy
potatoes to form a "crust"
sprinkle with grated cheese

Bake 350º 20-30 min until hot all the way through

remove from oven and cool 5 min before serving

Try flavored mashed potatoes for a twist
salt and pepper can be added to taste to the ground meat.
Frying in a skillet of water removes nearly all the fat of ground beef.
