3/4 cup butter, softened
1 cups sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup molasses
2 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon cloves
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
extra sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º.

In bowl, beat together butter and 1 cup of sugar; add eggs and molasses. Add remaining ingredients and mix will well blended.

Roll dough into 1 inch balls and roll in extra sugar. Place balls on ungreased cookie sheet.

bake 5-7 minutes until barely brown.
