2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour, divided
1 cup butter, softened
½ cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
4 eggs, beaten
2 cups sugar
¼ cup lemon juice
1 teaspoon grated lemon rind

Directions:
Directions:
Combine 2 cups flour, butter, and powdered sugar, mixing well. Pat evenly into a 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan, pressing mixture about ¼ inch up sides of pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Combine remaining ¼ cup flour and baking powder; add to remaining ingredients, mixing well. Pour over hot crust. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Cool slightly before cutting. Yield: 2 dozen bars.
