4 eggs
2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. sugar
1/2 lb dates
1/2 lb walnut meats
1 c. bread crumbs, ground through food chopper

Directions:
Directions:
Boil dates with a little water for a few minutes. Let cool. Use real dry bread. Mix baking powder with bread crumbs and put in last. That's all there is to this recipe!

I found this recipe in mom's recipe box, in Grandma Block's handwriting, with a date of 1924 in the upper left corner. As you can tell, the instructions don't seem complete, but I thought it would be fun to include it. The food chopper is probably a grinder, as the recipe was pre-food processor!!
