1 tbsp vegetable oil
1/2 white onion, peeled and diced small
2 tbsp minced garlic
3 tbsp minced ginger
2 tbsp minced fresh chile pepper of your choice(optional)
1/2 red bell pepper, seeded and diced small
1/2 green bell pepper, seeded and diced small
1/2 cup hoisin sauce
1/4 cup fresh lime juice (about 2 limes)
30 chicken wings
salt & pepper to taste
1/4 cup roughly chopped fresh basil

Directions:

-In a small saucepan over medium heat, heat the oil until hot but not smoking

-Add the onion and saute, stirring occasionally, until transparent, 5-7 minutes

-Add garlic, ginger, chile and saute, stirring occasionally for 1 minute

-Add the bell peppers and saute until soft, about 3 minutes

-Stir in the hoisin sauce and lime juice, bring to a simmer, and gently simmer for 5 minutes

-Remove from heat and set aside

-Sprinkle the wings with salt and pepper to taste and grill over a medium-hot fire turning occasionally, until golden brown, about 5 minutes

-Remove the wings from the grill and place in a medium bowl

-Add the sauce and basil, toss and serve immediately
