3 C. Shredded red cabbage
2 apples or 2 c. thinly sliced unpeeled apple
1/4 c. vinegar
1/4 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. water
1 t. salt
1/8 t. pepper
2 T. butter or salad oil (I use butter)

Directions:

Combine all ingredients and cover, steam or cook until tender, about 30
min. stir occasionally.
