3 sliced onion
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 cup water
1/2 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup vinegar
4 bay leaves
6 pickling spices
8 whitefish or salmon steaks

Directions:
Directions:
In a fish pot, cook onions on a low flame until they turn brown and liquid (Carmelize). When the onions are carmelized, add all the other ingredients except fish. Bring to boil. Lower flame- cook fish in the liquid for 20 minutes or until opaque in color. Cool and refrigerate.
