1 1/2 c.confectioner's sugar
1 c. butter, softened
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. almond extract
2 1/2 c flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar, butter, egg, and extracts. Gradually add dry ingredients. Cover and chill dough at least two hours. Roll dough and cut into shapes. Bake on lightly greased cookie sheet at 375º for 7 to 9 minutes. Frost when cooled.

These are my daughter, Jenny's, favorite at Christmas time. It was tradition to bake a batch for the kids to decorate each year.
