1 lb. boneless top round steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
2 onions, chopped
4 garlic cloves, minced
2-3 jalapeņo peppers, seeded and minced
1-3 Tbs. hot chili powder
1 tsp. ground cumin
1 tsp. dried oregano
1/2 cinnamon
3 cups beef broth
2 scallions, sliced (optional)

Directions:

Heat large saucepan and add beef, stirring occasionally until browned.
Add garlic, onions, jalapeņos, stirring frequently, until onions are soft. Add chili powder, cumin, oregano and cinnamon. Stir until spices coat the beef and vegetables.

Stir in broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, partially covered, until the beef is fork-tender, the broth is thickened and the flavors are blended, 1 1/2 hours. Sprinkle the chili w/ scallions.

This chili is VERY spicy! If you don't like it too spicy, use less jalapeņos or cumin. I also ease up on the garlic a little bit. :-)
