1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
3 tbsp. water
1 tsp vanilla
+ or - 2 c. chopped, toasted almonds or pecans
+ or - 2 c. chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter and sugar. Add water and vanilla, strirring constantly to around 270 degrees on a candy thermometer. (mixture will get very brown)
Pour mixture over nuts which have been placed in greased 9 X 13 " pan. Spread chocolate chips over the top and cover with alluminum foil for about five minutes until chips melt. Smooth choc. chips with spatula and let cool. When cool break apart.
