1 cup flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
2 eggs
5 tbsp butter
1/4 cup buttermilk
1 tsp lemon juice
5 large bananas
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup pecan or walnut halves

1. Preheat oven to 350º. Grease and flour a 9 1/2 x 5 1/2-inch loaf pan. In a large mixing bowl, sift flour, whole-wheat flour, baking powder, and baking soda. Reserve.

2. In the bowl of an electric mixer, food processor, or blender, add eggs, butter, buttermilk, lemon juice, bananas, sugar, and salt. Mix or blend until smooth. Slowly add dry ingredients. Fold in nuts.

3. Pour batter into pan and bake 1 hour and 25 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean.
