Butterscotch Brownies Recipe

1/2 lb butter
1 lb light brown sugar
4 eggs
2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups chopped nuts

Topping Mixture:
1 cup light brown sugar
2 tablespoons milk
2 tablespoonsbutter
1 talespoon four
pinch of salt
1/4 teaspoon vanilla

Melt butter, add sugar in sauce pan. Remove from heat and add unbeaten eggs one at a time. Mix well. Add sifted four and baking powder. Mix well. Add vanilla and nuts.

Pour into a well greased oblong cake pan. Bake at 350 for about 40 minutes (done when inserted toothpick comes out clean)

While the cake is still hot, prepare topping mixture and pour over warm cake.

Combine all the ingredients for the topping mixture in a saucepan and mix well. Bring to a boil and let boil for 1 minute. Pour over cake.

Cut into squares.
