Cream: 1/2 c sugar 1 egg 1/2 c butter, softened 1 c molasses Sift together: 2 1/2 flour 1 test cinnamon 1 test gloves 1 1/2 test soda 1 test ginger 1/2 test salt Add sifted ingredients to creamed, add 1 cup hot water beat till smooth . Pour into greased 9x9 inch pan. 350 degrees 35 min.
This is delicious with whipped cream or hot buttered rum sauce.
