4 c. all purpose flour
1 3/4 c. vegetable shortening
1 T. sugar
2 tsp. salt
1 T. vinegar
1 egg
1/2 c. water

Directions:
Directions:
With fork mix together first four ingredients. In a separate dish, beat remaining ingredients. Combine the two mixtures, stirring with a fork until all ingredients are moistened. Using your hands mold the dough into a ball. Chill at least 15 minutes before rolling into desired shape. Dough can be left in refrigerator up to three days or it can be frozen until ready to use.

This recipe is nowhere near as finicky as many pie crust recipes can be. There's no trick to it. Just follow the recipe and it turns out just right. I'm not even a big pie crust fan and I like this one. It bakes really pretty, too.
