2 cups oats
1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
1/2 cup melted butter
1/4 cup dark corn syrup
1/2 teas salt
1 teas vanilla
1- 6oz chocolate chips
1/4 cup chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 400º. Grease 9X9 inch baking pan. In medium bowl, mix oats and brown sugar. Stir together butter, syrup, salt and vanilla. Mix thoroughly into oat mixture. Press dough evenly in bottom of pan.

Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until top bubbles. Cool. Melt chocolate chips and spread on top. Sprinkle nuts on top. Chill 1 Cut into bars.

I've made these at Christmas time, they make a nice addition to a holiday gift plate. Also, they are easy for kids to make. It doesn't take a mixer, so you don't have to worry about little fingers.
