1 c. butter
1/2 c. evaporated milk
1 t. grated lemon rind
3 1/2 c. sifted flour
12 T. powdered sugar
1 t. salt
2 c. finely chopped almonds
1 lb. candied cherries

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter & beat in milk a little at a time, until it is all taken up by the butter.
Add lemon rind.

Sift flour,sugar & salt & add a little at a time to butter mixture.
Add nuts & mix well.

Flatten 1 t. of dough in the palmof hand .
Place cherry on the dough & pinch dough to cover it completely& roll between palms.
Place on a greased & floured cookie sheet
Bake@375 12 min.
Roll in powdered sugar while warm.
