2 1/4 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 t. baking soda
1 t. salt
1/2 cup Crisco
1/2 cup oleo (or 1/2 cup I cant believe its not butter)
3/4 cups granulated sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 t. vanilla extract
2 large eggs
1 cup chopped nuts (walnuts)
1 12oz bag Nestle toll House semi sweet chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Prehead oven to 375º
Combine flour, soda and salt in a bowl
Beat butter/Cisco, both sugars & vanilla in bowl until creamy. Add eggs one at a time beating well after each addition.
Then gradually beat in the flour mixture. Stir in nuts & chocolate chips. Drop by rounded spoon onto ungreased baking sheets.
Bake 9-11 minutes or until golden brown. let stand for 2 minutes then remove to wire racks to cool completely.

Aunt Mary always had these when we would go to visit when I was little. She often kept them in one of the Christmas tins that Uncle Sam got while working with Indiana Bell Telephone.
