4 4 to 6 ounce fresh or frozen halibut fillets, about 1 inch thick
1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
2 Tablespoons soy sauce
2 Tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
2 Tablespoons honey
2 cloves garlic, minced (1 teaspoon minced)
1 teaspoon chopped fresh basil

1. Thaw halibut, if frozen. Rinse fish; pat dry with paper towels. Set aside.
2. For marinade, in a shallow dish combine balsamic vinegar, soy sauce, olive oil, honey, garlic and basil. Add halibut; turn to coat with marinade. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to 1 1/2 hours, turning fish occasionally.
3. Preheat broiler. Drain fish, reserving marinade. Place fish on the greased unheated rack of a broiler pan. Broil 4 inches from the heat for 8 to 12 minutes or until fish flakes easily when tested with a fork, turning once halfway through broiling.
4. Meanwhile, for glaze, pour reserved marinade into a small saucepan. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered for 5 to 20 minutes or until thickened and reduced to 1/3 cup. Serve glaze over halibut fillets.
