1 2/3 cups white sugar
1/2 cup water
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons butter
6-8 quarts popped popcorn

Directions:
Directions:
Combine all ingredients except popcorn in a medium-sized saucepan and cook on medium heat to 280º (soft crack). Pour hot syrup over popcorn and mix well. Once mixed, pour popcorn out on a cookie sheet or waxed paper to cool. You can also add almonds or peanuts to make great popcorn balls.

My wife modifies this recipe for more caramel flavor by using 1 2/3 cups of brown sugar and 1/3 cup white sugar.
