2 1/2 c. oatmeal (quick oats works great)
1 c. sliced almonds
1/2 c. pepitas or sunflower seeds
1 c. packed dark brown sugar
1/4 c. water
3 T. vegetable oil
1/2 c. raisins
1/2 c. golden raisins

Directions:
Directions:
Position rack in top 1/3 of oven and preheat to 325 degrees.

Combine oats, almonds, and seeds in large bowl. Bring sugar, water and oil to a boil in pan or microwave. Stir. Add sugar mixture to oat mixture and stir with fork. Bake on large, greased baking sheet for 15 minutes. Stir. Bake 10 minutes longer; add raisins and stir. Bake until golden brown, about another 10 minutes. Stir. Cool completely. Store in airtight container.

This granola mixes well with plain bran cereal in the morning. Any nuts or seeds will work in the recipe. Some people like to add 1 t. cinnamon or a cup of shredded coconut. For special occasions, use dried tart cherries instead of the raisins.
