2 lbs. tender fresh okra
5 pods of hot pepper
5 cloves garlic
1 tablespoon mustard seed
1 quart white vinegar
1/4 cup water
6 tablespoons pickling salt

Directions:
Directions:
Wash okra and pack into 5 hot sterilized pint jars. Put 1 pepper pod and 1 garlic clove in each jar. Bring remaining ingredients to a boil and pour over the okra. Wipe off each jar rim before sealing. Place jars in a hot water bath for 10 minutes. Allow jars to sit up for about 4 weeks before serving.

When purchasing the okra it is always best to use the smaller pieces as they are more tender.
