1 chopped onion
3 T olive oil
1 large can tomatoes
12 oz tomato paste
2 c. water
1 T sugar
salt & pepper(pinches of each)
1 Bay Leaf

Directions:
Directions:
Lightly brown onion in olive oil. Add rest of ingredients and simmer 30 minutes. Tomatoes can be left whole, or diced depending on personal preference.

Lillian used whole tomatoes and would break them up slightly with wooden spoon while cooking the sauce.
