Ingredients: 1/2 cup flour 1 tsp salt-dash of pepper 3-3 1/2 lb chicken 2-3 T butter 1 1/2 cup fresh or frozen cranberries 1 cup brown sugar 3/4 cup water 1 Tbsp wine vinger 1 Tbsp flour 1/2 tsp cinnamon 1/4 tsp each salt, cloves, allspice

Directions:Combine flour, salt & pepper. Roll chicken pieces in flour mixture to coat. Slowly brown chicken in butter about 30 minutes. Remove chicken from pan. Add cranberries, brown sugar and water to drippings in pan. Cook for 5 minutes or until cranberry skins pop. Mix vinegar with flour and seasonings. Add to cranberry mixture. Cook stirring constantly until mixture thickens. Put chicken pieces into cranberry sauce and simmer for 30 minutes, turning occasionally. |

Notes: This has been a family favorite since the first time I cooked it. These days we enlarge the recipe and use mostly chicken breasts. It's almost always served with mashed potatoes because the sauce is so great.
