1 1/2 cups oil
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 cups apple, diced fresh

frosting:
1 cup packed brown sugar
3 tablespoons shortening
2 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup milk
2 cups powdered sugar

Directions:
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 2 large cake pans

2. Mix together oil, sugar and eggs. Beat well. Add remaining ingredients. Pour into prepared pans.

3. Bake for 40 minutes at 350 degrees.

4. Frost with boiled brown sugar frosting. Mix together first four ingredients in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Let boil 2 minutes. Cool to lukewarm. Then add enough powdered sugar to make spreading consistency - about 2 cups. If too stiff, add a little cream.
