1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
3/4 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 cup mashed banana
1 3/4 cups rolled oats
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Sift together flour, soda and spices. Beat shortening until creamy. Gradually add sugar and continue beating until light and fluffy. Add egg and beat well. Add bananas, rolled oats and nuts. Mix thoroughly. Add flour mixture and blend. Drop by teaspoonsful about 1 1/2 inches apart, onto a greased baking sheet. Bake in a 400 degree oven about 15 minutes until cookies are done.
