1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1 cup cracker crumbs
2 eggs, beaten
8 ounces seasoned tomato sauce
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
2 tablespoons chopped green bell pepper
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 medium bay leaf, crushed
dash thyme
dash marjoram
Chili sauce

Combine all ingredients except chili sauce. Mix well. Shape mixture in a loaf in a shallow baking dish. Score the loaf by pressing down on top with handle of wooden spoon. Fill the score marks with chili sauce. Bake in a moderate oven (350 degrees) for 1 hour.
