Ingredients:  
1 lb. navy beans
1 ham bone
1/2 t. salt
6 peppercorns
1 bay leaf
1/2 c. chopped onion

Directions:
Directions:
Cover beans with 2 quarts water and simmer 2 minutes. Remove heat and let stand 1 hour.
Add ham bone, salt, pepper and bay leaf. Cover and simmer 3 hours. Add onion for last half hour.
