One 8x8x2 inch baking dish, buttered and floured

1/4C. butter, melted

2 eggs

1/4C. sugar

1C. flour

2/3C. cornmeal

2tsp. baking powder

1/4tsp. baking soda

3/4tsp. salt

1C. buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400º. Put butter on to melt.

Beat eggs in a large bowl; add sugar and mix well.

Sift and measure flour; sift again with cornmeal, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Add dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk to egg-sugar mixture.

Stir in melted butter and pour into baking dish.

Bake about 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out dry.
