1 c unsalted butter
1 c sugar
3 large eggs
1 vanilla beam
2 c sifted cake flour
3/4 teas baking powder
1/2 teas salt
1/2 c sour cream

Directions:
Directions:
Place rack in lower third of oven. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease and flour a 9x5 inch loafpan.
Beat butter at medium speed with an electric mixer 30 seconds or until creamy. Add sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time beating just until blended after each addition. Beat mixture, scraping down after each addition.Split vanilla bean, in half lengthwise, scrape seeds into bowl , throw away pod or store in your sugar.
Combine flour, baking powder and salt . Add flour to butter mixture, alternately with sour cream. End with flour. Beat until just blended.
Pour into perpared pan, smooth top.
Bake at 350 degrees for 55 to 65 minutes. wooden toothpick should come out clean. Cool 10 minutes. Remove from pan Cool on rack. Store in waxed or plastic wrap x 1 week.
