MAKES LARGE SALAD

Combine and cook the sugar, flour, eggs, salt and fruit juice 'til thick. Cook 3/4 to 1 box spezziello (soup macaroni) in salted water. Cool and add to above mixture. Add 2 cans mandarin oranges (cut up and drained), 2 small cans crushed pineapple (drained), 1 large "cool whip" and 1 small package miniature marshmallows. Stir well and let set a few hours. Add maraschino cherries, if desired.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Dick and Bessie Spray were very close to mom and dad. When WWII broke out, the four of them (and a bunch of kids) moved to Detroit together and dad and Dick worked in a plant that made tank engines. After the war, they all went back to Nebraska. Bessie always seemed like an Aunt to us kids.

Some of the spellings are a challenge here. The "soup macaroni" was hard to make out but shouldn't make much difference. Plus, most of mom's recipes reference "boxes" of ingredients or "packages". I assume a box of macaroni is probably a pound, but you'll have to experiment to be sure.
