2 1/4 c flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
3/4 c brown sugar
1 c buttermilk
1 c sugar
3/4 tsp soda
3/4 tsp each of cinnamon
3/4 tsp cloves
3/4 c shortening
3 large eggs

Directions:
Directions:
Sift all ingredients; add shortening and milk. Beat 2 minutes; add eggs. Beat 2 minutes more; bake in 350 oven for 30 to 35 minutes.
